    About Leon McPaul

    Leon was admitted as a lawyer at 20 years of age. Since his admission, Leon has developed an expertise in Wills and Deceased Estates, Family Law and General Litigation. Commencing his career in Queensland, Leon is admitted to practice in both Queensland and Victoria, and has practised across multiple State jurisdictions including QLD, NSW, TAS and VIC.

    Originally performing Legal Aid work, Leon is focused on providing practical and cost-effective legal advice. Leon regularly appears in various jurisdictions between both State and Federal Courts, including the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

    At KPA Lawyers, Leon heads the Wills, Trusts and Estates Planning division and assists a range of clients from all backgrounds in all their estate planning needs, from modest straightforward circumstances to high net wealth individuals, whilst also continuing to practise in probate, general estate administration, trusts and family law.

    He has in-depth knowledge of complex estate planning and administration matters, including issues involving blended families, trust structures and estate challenges (family provision claims), and the intersection of these areas with his established experience in family law.

    Leon holds a Bachelor of Laws (2010) from Bond University.

    Natasha Hawke

    About Natasha Hawke

    Natasha practises across a broad range of estate planning, administration and litigation matters in our Wills & Estates team. Her work includes preparing wills and estate planning documents, advising on estate planning strategies, and assisting clients with probate applications and the administration of estates. She also acts in estate litigation matters and elder abuse matters, helping clients navigate disputes that can be both legally and personally complex.

    Natasha began her career as a criminal law paralegal while pursuing her undergraduate studies and continued working as a paralegal throughout her postgraduate degree. She was admitted to practice in 2020. Before joining KPA’s Wills & Estates team in 2025, Natasha gained experience in Wills and Estates matters alongside specialist practice in VCAT administrative work and interstate personal injury compensation.

    Clients and colleagues value Natasha’s compassionate care, attention to detail and steady commitment to her clients’ outcomes. She is dedicated to guiding clients through what are often sensitive matters with clarity, sensitivity and a focus on providing practical, considered advice.

    Natasha holds a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts (Criminal Justice Administration) from RMIT University.

    About Georgina jONES

    Georgina joined our Wills, Trusts & Estates Team as an Associate in 2026. Specialising in private client law, Georgina has experience across trust structuring and administration, estate planning, estate administration and disputes.

    Georgina began her legal career in New Zealand, where she gained extensive experience in private client law before relocating to Melbourne. Georgina was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2023 and then to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2026.

    Known for her thoughtful and client-centric approach, Georgina recognises the importance of supporting individuals and families through complex and personal matters with clarity, professionalism and care.

She has a particular interest in family law, as well as the intersection between law and politics, and enjoys building her knowledge across both areas as she progresses through her studies.

    Megen joined KPA Lawyers in 2025 during her final year of school, assisting with the firm’s administration and branding, and is now beginning a degree in Law at Deakin University.

    About MAX PURCELL

    Max is a Legal Executive at KPA Lawyers, supporting the Wills & Estates team in delivering practical and accessible legal services across estate planning, succession and estate administration matters. He works closely with the lawyers and practitioners in the team to ensure the efficient delivery of both straightforward and complex engagements

    Alongside his work in Wills & Estates, Max leads initiatives at the intersection of law and technology, with a focus on developing policies and frameworks for the effective use of AI in legal practice. He takes a hands-on approach to building processes that enhance consistency, clarity and team performance.

    Max brings a strong analytical foundation to his work, drawing on his previous experience as a Research and Development Tax Consultant at KPMG, where he developed expertise in project analysis and the interpretation of legislation.

    Max joined KPA Lawyers in 2024 and holds a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Medicinal Chemistry) from the University of Melbourne.

    Shineal is an experienced Executive Assistant and Department Coordinator with over 15 years’ experience in the legal profession. As Executive Assistant to Leon McPaul, Partner and Head of Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning, she plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the practice.

    In her dual role, Shineal provides high-level executive support while coordinating departmental workflows, priorities and communications. She brings strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands with professionalism and discretion, thriving in fast-paced environments and serving as a trusted support to leadership and a central point of coordination for the team.
