Emily Purcell
Emily Purcell is a partner at KPA Lawyers and heads the KPA Lawyers’ Property Law division.
Emily graduated from La Trobe University with degrees in both Law and Psychological Science. Drawing on her psychology degree, Emily brings to her legal practice an awareness of the complex personal and socio-economic circumstances that compound the difficulties faced by clients when dealing with the legal system.
Having joined the firm in 2013, Emily has practiced primarily in the areas of property law and family law.
Property Law
Emily is passionate about all things property.
She has experience in dealing with a wide range of property matters including the sale and purchase of residential and commercial property, small and large subdivisions, advising landlords and tenants regarding the leasing of retail, commercial and industrial property and preparation of leases, mortgages and loan agreements. Emily is also experienced in dealing with building contracts, owners corporation matters and Retirement Village Agreements.
Family Law
Prior to becoming the head of the KPA Lawyers’ Property Law division, Emily also practised in family law.
Emily has experience in dealing with a wide range of family law matters including parenting and financial matters, preparing and advising on Financial and Child Support Agreements, intervention orders and divorce applications.
Emily still advises family law clients on complex property matters and assists family law clients to divide their property following a breakdown in their relationship.
Emily’s practice in property law and family law provides her with a unique ability to provide her clients with a comprehensive legal service when assisting them to divide their property following a breakdown in their relationship.
